Children’s Book Week® Resources

The Children’s Book Council of Australia

The Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) brings children and books together through its annual Children’s Book Week® and Book of the Year awards. Children’s Book Week 2024 will be held from 17 – 23 August. Find out more about CBCA’s Children’s Book Week on their website.

This year CBCA has developed some wonderful new merchandise to help you celebrate Children’s Book Week® and they have produced a terrific catalogue(PDF). Their Year Planner is available right now as a PDF download and other merchandise can be ordered early this year from their e-store.

CBCA will continue in 2024 with their Sun Project: Illuminating Children’s Literature — Shadow Judging for 2024.  This project will enable groups of young people across Australia to judge the CBCA Book of the Year Shortlist alongside the CBCA judging panel. These groups will be participating in a critical conversation and responding creatively. If you would like to stay up to date with registration information and critical 2024 key dates, or simply want to learn more about the popular program, please sign up to the Sun Project mailing list by filling out your details on their website.

The reverse side can be where students list, draw or collage what they are – curious and wild about, what creatures they want to know about, what their mind muses on. They can add their name into the colouring in side, laminate. Collage side up – students guess their colleagues from the clues they’ve put into the collage.
